2021 Johannisberg HÖLLE Riesling GG VDP. GROSSE LAGE
The "Johannisberger Hölle" site was already mentioned before 1180 as "helda in monti sanctis Johannis" , where "helda" stood for heap . The south to southwest- facing slope lies above the community of Johannisberg . It is 150m above sea level and has a gradient of 8-30% . Above the Taunus quartzite, medium to deep loess and loess loam can be found in the soil structure of the Hölle . This site guarantees optimum ripeness every year. The "Hölle" site is one of the best and also steepest sites in Johannisberg .
This great wine was very gently fermented and matured in a large 1200-litre wooden barrel and was only bottled after 24 months of storage on the fine yeast .
